Three-Day Itinerary for Ujjain Temple, Bhasma Aarti, and Omkareshwar

  1. Day 1: Ujjain Temple
    10 minutes (3.5 km) from Ujjain Junction Railway Station

    In the morning, visit the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be the only Jyotirlinga where devotees can observe the Bhasma Aarti. Afternoon, head over to the Harsiddhi Mata temple, which is dedicated to goddess Annapurna and Kali. In the evening, visit the Kal Bhairav temple and witness the grand procession of Lord Kal Bhairav.

  2. Day 2: Bhasma Aarti
    1 hour 15 minutes (70.7 km) from Ujjain to Maheshwar

    In the morning, witness the Bhasma Aarti at Mahakaleshwar temple. After breakfast, head over to Maheshwar, located on the banks of the Narmada river. Visit the Ahilya Fort, which was built by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar in the 18th century. In the afternoon, visit the Maheshwar Ghat and take a boat ride in the Narmada river. In the evening, enjoy the light and sound show at the Ahilya Fort.

  3. Day 3: Omkareshwar
    1 hour 15 minutes (77.2 km) from Maheshwar to Omkareshwar

    In the morning, visit the Omkareshwar temple, which is located on an island in the Narmada river. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. Afternoon, visit the Kajal Rani Cave and take a dip in the Saptamatrika Kund, which is believed to be a sacred water body. In the evening, enjoy a boat ride in the Narmada river and witness the Aarti at the Omkareshwar temple.
