4-Day Relaxing Amarnath Yatra Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar
    From Srinagar International Airport to Srinagar city center (12.8 km, 35 minutes)

    Upon arrival in Srinagar, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Srinagar. Spend the morning leisurely at your hotel, taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and Dal Lake. In the afternoon, visit the famous Shalimar Bagh, a Mughal garden with terraced lawns, cascading fountains, and blooming flower beds. For dinner, head to Mughal Darbar in the city centre for some delicious Kashmiri cuisine.

  2. Day 2: Srinagar to Sonamarg to Baltal
    From Srinagar to Sonamarg (82.7 km, 2 hrs) and Sonamarg to Baltal (15.6 km, 30 mins)

    After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Srinagar and drive to Sonamarg, a scenic town known for its snow-capped mountains and lush greenery. Spend the morning exploring the town and its surroundings. In the afternoon, drive to Baltal, the base camp for the Amarnath Yatra. Check into your accommodation and spend the evening at leisure.

  3. Day 3: Baltal to Amarnath Cave and back
    From Baltal to Amarnath Cave (17.5 km, 4 hrs one way)

    Wake up early and begin your trek to the Amarnath Cave, where the famous Amarnath Shiva Linga is located. The trek is steep and challenging, but the stunning views of the Himalayas and the serene environment make it a deeply spiritual and rewarding experience. After reaching the cave, pay your respects to the deity and begin the trek back to Baltal. Spend the evening resting and reflecting on your experience.

  4. Day 4: Baltal to Srinagar
    From Baltal to Srinagar (103 km, 3 hrs)

    After breakfast, check out from your accommodation in Baltal and drive back to Srinagar. Spend the morning exploring the city at your leisure, perhaps taking a shikara ride on Dal Lake or visiting the famous Hazratbal Shrine. In the afternoon, visit the Shankaracharya Temple, an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. For your last dinner in Srinagar, head to Ahdoos in the city centre for some delicious Kashmiri kebabs and biryani.

Recommendations

While in Srinagar, be sure to visit the Pari Mahal, a beautiful garden and observatory built by a Mughal prince in the 17th century. You can also take a day trip to Gulmarg, a popular ski resort town known for its scenic beauty and adventure sports.
