In the morning, we will embark on a scenic trek to Meesapulimala Peak, the second highest peak in South India. The trail will take us through lush green forests and meandering streams. The breathtaking views from the summit are worth the effort. After descending the peak, we will enjoy a delicious lunch and then head to the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate. Here, we will learn about the tea-making process and enjoy a refreshing cup of tea. In the evening, we will set up camp and enjoy a bonfire under the stars.
After breakfast, we will head to Chinnakanal Waterfalls for an exciting rock climbing and rappelling session. The cascading waterfalls make for a picturesque backdrop as we climb and rappel over the rocky terrain. After lunch, we will visit the nearby Mattupetty Dam, where we will enjoy a peaceful boat ride. We will end the day with a visit to the picturesque Echo Point, where we can shout out our names and hear them echo back.
If you have an extra day, consider visiting the Eravikulam National Park to spot endangered species like the Nilgiri Tahr and the Neelakurinji flower that blooms once in 12 years. You could also try paragliding or ziplining at Vagamon, which is about 2 hours from Kolukkumalai. To make the most of your trip, be sure to carry comfortable shoes, warm clothes, and sunscreen.
