Two-Day Adventure Itinerary for Netravati Peak in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Netravati Peak
    20 minutes (8.6 miles) from Mangalore International Airport

    Morning: Start the day early with a trek to Netravati Peak. The trail is moderate and takes around 3 hours to complete. The view from the top is breathtaking and worth the effort.
    Afternoon: After the trek, head to the nearby Manjarabad Fort for a picnic lunch. The fort was built by Tipu Sultan and offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills.
    Evening: End the day with a visit to the well-known Dharmasthala Temple, located about an hour's drive from Netravati Peak. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is famous for its intricate carvings.

  2. Day 2: River Rafting and Waterfall Trek
    1 hour 30 minutes (52 miles) from Netravati Peak

    Morning: Begin the day with an exciting river rafting experience on the Sita River. The activity takes around 2 hours to complete and is a great way to beat the summer heat.
    Afternoon: After lunch, take a short drive to the nearby waterfalls for a refreshing dip. The trek to the waterfalls takes around 45 minutes and is an easy one.
    Evening: End the day by relaxing at one of the many nearby homestays which offer a comfortable stay amidst nature.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the nearby Kukke Subramanya Temple or the beaches of Udupi. A day trip to Coorg is also highly recommended. To maximize your fun, be sure to pack comfortable shoes, a hat, and sunscreen.
