3-Day Itinerary for Valley of Flowers

  1. Day 1: Valley of Flowers National Park
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Govindghat

    Enjoy a morning trek through the Valley of Flowers, which is home to a variety of alpine flowers, including Himalayan bellflowers, Himalayan cobra lilies, and Himalayan blue poppies. In the afternoon, visit Hemkund Sahib, a sacred Sikh shrine located beside a serene glacial lake. In the evening, relax at the Ghangaria Bazaar and enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee.

  2. Day 2: Badrinath Temple
    1 hour 30 minutes (35.5 miles) from Ghangaria

    Start your day with a visit to Badrinath Temple, one of the four sacred shrines in Hinduism. The temple is located on the banks of the Alaknanda River and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In the afternoon, visit the Mana Village, the last village on the border of India and Tibet. Here, you can see the Vasudhara Falls, the Ganesh Gufa (cave), and the Bheem Pul (bridge). In the evening, return to your hotel in Ghangaria and relax.

  3. Day 3: Auli
    2 hours 30 minutes (53.8 miles) from Ghangaria

    Take a cable car ride to Auli, a popular ski destination in the winter and a beautiful meadow in the summer. Enjoy a panoramic view of the Himalayas, including Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Kamet. In the afternoon, visit the Nanda Devi National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to endangered species such as the snow leopard and the Himalayan musk deer. In the evening, return to your hotel in Ghangaria and relax.

Recommendations

If you have additional time, you could consider visiting the Bheemeshwari Temple, the Vashisht Temple, or the Rudranath Temple. Day trips to the nearby destinations of Joshimath, Rishikesh, or Haridwar are also worth considering.
