Discover the Beauty of Soochipara Falls in 1 Day

1. 9:00 AM: Soochipara Falls
   30 minutes (15 miles) from Kalpetta

   Prepare to be mesmerized by the beauty of Soochipara Falls which is also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls. The waterfall cascades down from a height of 200 meters and is surrounded by lush greenery. There is a short trek required to reach the falls which makes it more adventurous and fun. 2. 11:30 AM: Pookode Lake
   1 hour (20 miles) from Soochipara Falls

   Pookode Lake is a serene freshwater lake located in the Western Ghats. The lake is surrounded by forests and greenery and offers a peaceful atmosphere. You can go boating, walk along the lake, or just sit on the benches and enjoy the view. The lake also has an aquarium and a children's park.

3. 1:30 PM: Lakkidi Viewpoint
   40 minutes (15 miles) from Pookode Lake

   Get a bird's eye view of the Western Ghats from the Lakkidi Viewpoint. The view is breathtaking and offers a panoramic view of the mountain range and the valley below. The viewpoint is located at the top of Thamarassery Ghat Pass and is surrounded by mist and fog. Make sure to carry a jacket or sweater.

   Explore the ancient Edakkal Caves which are located on Ambukuthi Hills. The caves have prehistoric rock paintings and carvings which are believed to be over 8000 years old. You have to trek to reach the caves which takes around 45 minutes. It's advisable to hire a guide to understand the history and significance of the caves.

5. 5:30 PM: Banasura Sagar Dam
   40 minutes (15 miles) from Edakkal Caves

   End your day with a visit to the Banasura Sagar Dam which is the largest earthen dam in India. The dam is located in the midst of the Banasura hills and offers a spectacular view. You can go boating or take a speedboat ride in the dam. There are also several viewpoints from where you can enjoy the scenic beauty.
