Two-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary from Subrahmanya to Madikeri

  1. Day 1: Kukke Subramanya Temple
Approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes (43.6 km) from Subrahmanya

Visit the famous Kukke Subramanya Temple, dedicated to Lord Subramanya, and seek blessings. The temple is surrounded by mountains, and the Devaramane Hill is a short trek from the temple. Enjoy a vegetarian breakfast at one of the many restaurants near the temple. In the afternoon, take a 2-hour drive to Dubare Elephant Camp, where you can watch elephants being bathed and trained. Go for a short elephant ride and take a boat ride in the nearby river. Finish the day with a visit to the Nisargadhama Island, a man-made island and picnic spot with deer, rabbits and peacocks.

  2. Day 2: Madikeri Fort and Raja's Seat
Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes (39.9 km) from Nisargadhama Island

Start the day by visiting the Madikeri Fort, built in the 17th century, and learn about its history. The fort now houses a museum with artifacts from the Kodagu region. Afterward, take a 10-minute drive to Raja's Seat, a beautiful garden with a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills. Enjoy a packed lunch from any of the nearby restaurants. In the afternoon, visit the Abbey Falls, which is a short drive from Raja's Seat. Take a walk to reach the falls and enjoy the scenic beauty. End the day by visiting the Omkareshwara Temple, located 3 km from the falls. The temple is a mix of Islamic and Gothic styles of architecture.

Recommendations
