Family Friendly Itinerary for 2 Days in Mount Abu in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Nakki Lake
    10 minutes (2.1 km) from hotel

    Morning: Take a relaxing boat ride on the serene Nakki Lake. Located in the heart of Mount Abu, this man-made lake is an excellent spot for photography and enjoying the scenic surroundings.

    Afternoon: Visit the Brahma Kumari World Spiritual University. Learn about the philosophy and teachings of the Brahma Kumaris, an international spiritual organization founded in 1937. Take a guided tour of the campus, attend a meditation session and participate in a Q&A session with the guides.

    Evening: Explore the Toad Rock, a famous rock formation in Mount Abu that resembles a toad. It is a popular spot for photography and offers an excellent view of the surrounding valley.

  2. Day 2: Dilwara Jain Temples
    20 minutes (4.1 km) from hotel

    Morning: Visit the Dilwara Jain Temples, a group of five marble temples built by the Chalukya dynasty between the 11th and 13th centuries. Admire the intricate carvings, detailed sculptures and stunning architecture of these temples which are considered to be one of the finest examples of Jain architecture.

    Afternoon: Go on a nature walk at the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary. Spot a variety of flora and fauna, including the Indian leopard, Indian civet, sloth bear and many species of birds.

    Evening: Watch a stunning sunset at the Sunset Point. Located on the western side of Mount Abu, it offers a panoramic view of the Aravalli Range and is an ideal spot for photography.

Recommendations

Do not miss the Mount Abu Summer Festival, which takes place in June every year, if your trip dates are flexible. The festival includes cultural programs, musical performances, and a fireworks display. You can also consider a day trip to the nearby Achalgarh Fort, which is about 8 km from Mount Abu.

To maximize your fun, you can also plan an early morning trek to Guru Shikhar, the highest peak in Rajasthan. The trek is about 8 km from Mount Abu and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys and mountain ranges.
