Pune to Mumbai Train Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Gateway of India
    27 minutes (15.3 km) from Pune Junction railway station

    In the morning, head to the iconic Gateway of India. This 20th-century monument is a must-see attraction in Mumbai. Take a stroll around the area while admiring the architecture and the view of the Arabian Sea. For lunch, try some street food at the nearby Colaba Causeway market. In the afternoon, visit the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Mumbai's most famous landmarks. In the evening, take a relaxing walk at Marine Drive, also known as the Queen's Necklace.

  2. Day 2: Elephanta Caves
    1 hour 15 minutes (25.5 km) from downtown Mumbai

    In the morning, take a ferry to Elephanta Island to visit the famous Elephanta Caves. These rock-cut caves and temples date back to the 5th century and display some of the finest examples of Indian art. Spend a few hours exploring the island and the caves. For lunch, try some seafood at Trishna or Gajalee. In the afternoon, visit the Haji Ali Dargah, a mosque and tomb located on an islet off the coast of Worli. In the evening, head to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link bridge for a stunning sunset view of the Mumbai skyline.

If you have time, consider visiting the Sanjay Gandhi National Park or the Kanheri Caves. You can also take a day trip to the hill station of Lonavala or the beach town of Alibaug.
