Visit the Palazzo dei Normanni, an impressive palace since the 9th century, first home to Arab Emirs, then to Norman kings, and now seat of the Sicilian Regional Assembly. Walk to Teatro Massimo, the largest theatre in Italy, and enjoy an opera show.
Take a road trip to Taormina, a stunning town high over the sea. Admire the impressive Greek-Roman Theatre, with Mount Etna as a backdrop, visit the Palazzo Corvaia, a historical building, and stroll through the Corso Umberto, the main street full of shops and restaurants.
End your three-day trip in the charming fishing village of Cefalù. Take in the stunning view from the top of La Rocca, a mountain rising over the town, explore the historic Cathedral of Cefalù, and wander through the picturesque streets of the old town.
If you have more time, consider a day trip to the nature reserve of Zingaro, San Vito lo Capo, or the ancient ruins of Segesta. If you have less time, you can cut out one of the three locations, or trim your visit to Taormina.
