7-Day Volunteering Itinerary for Har Ki Dun Trek in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Sankri
    Starting Point
    Distance from Dehradun Airport - 223 km (8 hours 45 minutes)

    After arriving in Sankri, take your time to acclimatize to the altitude. In the evening, interact with locals and learn about their culture and traditions.

  2. Day 2: Taluka
    12 km (1 hour) from Sankri
    Distance from Dehradun - 170 km (8 hours)

    After breakfast, start your trek to Taluka. Along the way, you can volunteer to clean up the trail. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire under the starry sky.

  3. Day 3: Osla
    13 km (6 hours) from Taluka

    Today's trek will be a bit strenuous with steep ascents and descents. Volunteer to help the locals with their daily chores and immerse yourself in their way of life.

  4. Day 4: Har Ki Dun
    11 km (5 hours) from Osla

    Today you will reach the highlight of the trek - Har Ki Dun. Volunteer to teach English to the local children in the morning. In the afternoon, trek to Jaundhar Glacier for stunning views of the valley.

  5. Day 5: Har Ki Dun

    Explore the valley in the morning and volunteer to teach environmental conservation practices to the locals. In the afternoon, visit the Morinda Tal and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

  6. Day 6: Osla
    11 km (5 hours) from Har Ki Dun

    Start your descent to Osla. Along the way, volunteer to pick up trash on the trail. In the evening, enjoy a cultural program put up by the locals.

  7. Day 7: Sankri
    25 km (8 hours) from Osla

    Today is the last day of the trek. Volunteer to plant saplings in the village before heading back to Sankri. In the evening, say goodbye to the locals and reminisce about your experiences.
