2-Day Adventure Itinerary for Coorg and Ooty in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Coorg
    Drive 5 hours (248 km) from Bangalore to Coorg

    Morning: Start your day with an early morning trek to Tadiandamol Peak, the highest peak in Coorg. The lush greenery and panoramic view from the top are breathtaking.

    Afternoon: Visit the Dubare Elephant Camp, where you can get up close and personal with these gentle giants. You can take an elephant ride, watch them being bathed or even participate in feeding them.

    Evening: Head to the Abbey Falls for a picturesque view of cascading waterfalls amidst the dense forest. The surrounding coffee plantations and spice gardens add to the beauty of the falls.

  2. Day 2: Ooty
    Drive 3 hours (86.5 km) from Coorg to Ooty

    Morning: Start your day with a trek to Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in Ooty. The scenic trek will offer you stunning views of the Nilgiri Mountains as you make your way to the top.

    Afternoon: Visit the Pykara Falls, a majestic waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. You can take a boat ride in the Pykara Lake or try your hand at angling.

    Evening: Take a tour of the Tea Museum and learn about the history of tea cultivation in Ooty. You can indulge in tea tasting and purchase some fresh tea leaves to take back home.

If you have time, do visit the Nagarhole National Park in Coorg, which is home to a variety of wildlife including tigers, elephants, and leopards. You can also take a day trip to the nearby towns of Madikeri and Kushalnagar. In Ooty, the Rose Garden and Botanical Garden are worth a visit. You can also take a day trip to Coonoor and admire the stunning views of the Nilgiri Mountains on the way.
