Start your day at Toccoa Falls, a beautiful 186-foot waterfall located on the campus of Toccoa Falls College. Take a leisurely hike on the nature trail that leads to the falls and enjoy the stunning scenery. There are picnic areas available, so pack a lunch and enjoy a family picnic amidst the natural beauty.
Spend the morning at the Currahee Military Museum, a museum dedicated to the history of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, made famous by the HBO series "Band of Brothers." Learn about their training and experiences during World War II, and see artifacts such as weapons, uniforms, and documents. There is also an outdoor area with memorials and a Sherman tank.
If you have more time, consider visiting other nearby outdoor attractions such as Tallulah Gorge State Park or Panther Creek Falls. If you have less time, skip the Currahee Military Museum and spend more time exploring Toccoa Falls and the surrounding areas. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes and bring sunscreen and water on any outdoor excursions.
