Tirupathi Family Friendly 2-Day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Sri Venkateswara Temple
    5 minutes (2 km) from Tirupati Railway Station

    Visit the world-famous Sri Venkateswara Temple in the morning. One of the most important pilgrimage sites in India, this temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and attracts millions of devotees every year. The intricate carvings and architecture are a sight to behold. The temple is known for its Laddu Prasadam which is a must-try. In the afternoon, head to Akasa Ganga Teertham Waterfall located 35 minutes (20 km) away. This hidden gem is a great place to relax and rejuvenate in the lap of nature. In the evening, visit the Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple which is 20 minutes (10 km) away. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its beautiful architecture and serene surroundings.

  2. Day 2: Chandragiri Fort and Sri Vari Museum
    30 minutes (20 km) from Tirupathi Bus Stand

    Begin the day by visiting the Chandragiri Fort which is 30 minutes (20 km) away. This 11th-century fort was built by the Vijayanagara Empire and is now a museum that houses artifacts from the fort's history. The fort also offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills. In the afternoon, head to Sri Vari Museum, located 10 minutes (6 km) away. This museum displays the history and culture of the temple town. The exhibits include intricate carvings, paintings, and artifacts related to the temple's history. In the evening, enjoy a stroll around the beautiful Swami Pushkarini Lake located nearby.

Recommendations

If you have time, visit Sri Venkateshwara Zoological Park which is home to a variety of animals and birds. The Regional Science Center and Planetarium is a great place to visit with kids. You can also take a day trip to Kailasakona Waterfalls, located 2 hours (80 km) away. Don't forget to try the local cuisine which is a mix of South Indian and Andhra cuisine.
