2-Day Adventure Itinerary for Nethravati Peak in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Trek to Nethravati Peak
    Starting Point: Kudremukh National Park
1 hour (25 miles) from Kalasa

The trek to Nethravati Peak is moderately difficult, and it takes around 5-6 hours to complete. Start early in the morning to avoid the scorching sun. The trail offers picturesque views of the Kudremukh range and the surrounding forests. Enjoy the serene surroundings as you trek through the lush green forests. Stop for a packed lunch en route. The final stretch of the trek requires a bit of rock climbing, but the views from the top are worth it. Reach the peak before sunset and watch the sun go down.

  2. Day 2: Kayaking in River Bhadra
    Starting Point: Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary
30 minutes (12 miles) from Kalasa

Spend your morning kayaking in the tranquil waters of River Bhadra. The 2-hour-long kayaking session will take you through the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and offer you a chance to spot some of the exotic bird species. The experience is perfect for adventure-seekers who love to indulge in water sports. After lunch, head to the Sirimane Falls for a refreshing dip in the natural pool. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery, which makes for a great photo-op. Spend your evening relaxing by the falls before heading back to your hotel.

Recommendations

If you're interested in exploring more of the Western Ghats, you can visit the Mullayanagiri Peak, located just 40 miles from Kudremukh National Park. The peak offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and is one of the highest peaks in Karnataka. You can also visit the nearby Hanuman Gundi Falls for a picnic lunch.

To maximize your fun, we recommend booking a stay in one of the eco-cottages or homestays in the area. This will give you an opportunity to experience the local culture and cuisine while being close to nature.
