Shoestring Budget Goa Itinerary for July 2023

  1. Day 1: Baga Beach
    1-hour drive (12 miles) from Goa International Airport

    MORNING - Head to Baga beach early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Take a dip in the Arabian sea and relax on the beach. We recommend trying out some of the local street food and beverages. AFTERNOON - Rent a bike or a scooter to explore the surrounding areas. You can visit the Saturday Night Market in Arpora, or the Anjuna Flea Market. Finish the day by watching the sunset at the beach. EVENING - Grab some dinner at one of the beach shacks. We recommend trying out some seafood dishes.

  2. Day 2: Fort Aguada and Sinquerim Beach
    25-minute drive (7 miles) from Baga Beach

    MORNING - Visit Fort Aguada early in the morning. This 17th-century fort offers a stunning view of the Arabian sea and is a popular spot for photography. AFTERNOON - Head to Sinquerim Beach, which is just a short drive from the fort. Relax on the beach or try out some water sports like parasailing, jet skiing, or banana boating. EVENING - Visit the nearby LPK Waterfront for some delicious food and drinks.

  3. Day 3: Dudhsagar Falls
    2-hour drive (43 miles) from Sinquerim Beach

    MORNING - Head out early in the morning to visit the beautiful Dudhsagar Falls. You can hire a jeep or take a train to reach the falls. The journey is through the lush green Western Ghats, which is a treat for nature lovers. AFTERNOON - Enjoy a refreshing dip in the falls and take a short trek to the nearby spice plantation. EVENING - Head back to your accommodation to relax and unwind.

  4. Day 4: Palolem Beach
    1-hour 30-minute drive (35 miles) from Dudhsagar Falls

    MORNING - Head to the beautiful Palolem beach early in the morning. The beach has clear blue waters and is surrounded by hills covered in coconut palms. You can enjoy various water sports activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, and surfing. AFTERNOON - Take a short boat ride to the nearby Butterfly Beach, known for its unique butterfly shape and dolphin sightings. EVENING - End the day with a relaxing yoga session or visit one of the nearby beach shacks for some delicious food.

Recommendations

Make sure to visit the Fontainhas Heritage Walk, which is a UNESCO heritage site and reflects the Portuguese influence in Goa. You can also visit the famous Basilica of Bom Jesus, known for its Baroque architecture. For day trips, you can visit the beautiful Spice Plantations in Ponda or the serene Divar island.
