Chickmanglore 2-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Mullayanagiri
    1 hour 30 minutes (20 miles) from Chickmanglore

    Morning: Start your day early and head to Mullayanagiri, the highest peak in Karnataka. The drive up the winding roads will give you a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills and valleys. Once you reach the top, take a short hike to the peak where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Western Ghats.
    Afternoon: Stop for lunch at the nearby town of Chikmagalur and try some local cuisine. You can also visit the nearby coffee plantations and learn about the coffee-making process.
    Evening: Head to Hebbe Falls, a beautiful waterfall nestled in the hills. You can take a dip in the cool waters or just relax and enjoy the scenery.

  2. Day 2: Belur and Halebidu
    1 hour 20 minutes (35 miles) from Chickmanglore

    Morning: Start your day by visiting the Belur temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its intricate carvings and sculptures. The temple is a fine example of Hoysala architecture and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
    Afternoon: Drive down to Halebidu and visit the Hoysaleswara temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its exquisite carvings and sculptures. You can also visit the nearby Kedareshwara temple.
    Evening: Head back to Chickmanglore and spend the evening exploring the local markets and trying out some street food.
