In the morning, we will start our journey with a visit to Mullayanagiri Peak, the highest peak in Karnataka. It is a challenging trek that takes around two hours to reach the summit and is suitable for experienced trekkers. The trekking trail is mesmerizing with beautiful grasslands, rocky terrain, and scenic views of the valley below. We will come across some local vendors selling hot tea and snacks. In the afternoon, we will head to the Hebbe Falls, a picturesque waterfall situated in the middle of dense forests. The waterfalls from a height of around 500 feet and is a perfect place to refresh and rejuvenate. We will end the day by visiting the Baba Budangiri Shrine, a sacred spot that offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
Our second day of the trip will start with a visit to the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. Here, we can spot a wide variety of flora and fauna, including tigers, elephants, leopards, and deer. The sanctuary also offers outdoor activities like hiking, bird watching, and jeep safaris. In the afternoon, we will head to the Kudremukh National Park, a biodiversity hotspot located in the Western Ghats. The park is known for its scenic beauty and the Kudremukh peak, which is shaped like a horse's face. We will end our trip by visiting the Coffee Museum, a place that provides an insight into the history of coffee and its evolution in India.
If you are looking for some offbeat experiences, then you can visit the Ballalarayana Durga Fort, a ruined fort situated on a hilltop. The fort offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. For adventure enthusiasts, you can try river rafting in the Bhadra river. If you have more time, consider visiting the Belur and Halebidu temples, which are some of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture.
