3-Day Itinerary: Bangalore to Chikmagalur in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Bangalore to Chikmagalur
    243 km (5 hours) from Bangalore

    In the morning, hit the road early to Chikmagalur. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and catch up on some rest. In the afternoon, visit the Hebbe Falls, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. Take a dip in the cool waters and enjoy the scenery. In the evening, head to the Jhari Waterfalls, another stunning waterfall, and watch the sunset from the top.

  2. Day 2: Chikmagalur Exploration
    20 km (30 minutes) from the hotel

    Start your day early with a visit to the Mullayanagiri Peak, the highest peak in Karnataka. The trek to the top is a bit challenging, but the panoramic views from the top are worth it. In the afternoon, head to the coffee plantations and learn about the coffee-making process. You can also indulge in some coffee-tasting sessions and buy some fresh coffee as souvenirs. End your day with a visit to the Mahatma Gandhi Park and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

  3. Day 3: Chikmagalur to Bangalore

    Before leaving, visit the Baba Budangiri Hills and take in the breathtaking views. You can also visit the Manikyadhara Falls nearby. In the afternoon, drive back to Bangalore and visit the iconic Bangalore Palace. Explore the palace grounds and take a walk through the beautiful gardens. In the evening, head to the Bull Temple and witness the grandeur of the Nandi statue.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider visiting the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of animals and birds.
