2-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary for Jog Falls in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Jog Falls

    For a perfect start to your Jog Falls trip, head to the viewpoint and watch the sunrise over the waterfalls. After breakfast, take a short walk to the bottom of the falls and enjoy the misty showers. Don't forget to capture these picturesque moments. In the afternoon, visit the Sharavathi Wildlife Sanctuary and explore the flora and fauna. Spend the evening at the Linganamakki Dam and enjoy the sunset overlooking the serene backwaters of the Sharavathi River.

  2. Day 2: Kanoor Fort & Honnemaradu
    1 hour 15 minutes (35.8km) from Jog Falls

    On day 2, drive to Kanoor Fort and discover its rich history. Enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding forests and spot some monkeys. In the afternoon, head to Honnemaradu and indulge in water sports such as kayaking and canoeing. You can also opt for a coracle ride on the backwaters. Spend the evening relaxing by the campfire and stargazing.

Recommendations

If you have more time, visit the Tunga Anicut Dam and the Kodachadri Peak for some adventurous trekking. You can also explore the nearby villages and interact with the locals to learn more about the rural lifestyle. For a day trip, drive to the nearby beach town of Gokarna.
