3-Day Adventure Itinerary for Delhi in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit Qutub Minar Complex
    30 minutes (9.5 km) from Indira Gandhi International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Qutub Minar Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the soaring Qutub Minar, the ruins of Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, and the beautifully decorated Alai Darwaza gate. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Mehrauli Archaeological Park for a picnic lunch amidst ancient ruins. In the evening go for a walk at the Garden of Five Senses, a beautiful park with landscaped gardens, waterfalls, and sculptures.

  2. Day 2: Adventure at Indian Mountaineering Foundation
    15 minutes (5.7 km) from Connaught Place

    In the morning, head to the Indian Mountaineering Foundation for some adventure activities like rock climbing, rappelling, and zip-lining. After lunch, visit the National Museum, which showcases India's rich cultural heritage through its collections of art, archaeology, and anthropology. In the evening, go for a walk at Hauz Khas Village, a trendy neighborhood with cafes, boutiques, and art galleries.

  3. Day 3: Visit India Gate and National Zoological Park
    25 minutes (8.5 km) from Lotus Temple

    In the morning, visit India Gate, a war memorial with a grand arch and a large park. Take a walk around the park and enjoy a picnic breakfast. Afterward, visit the nearby National Zoological Park, a large zoo with a diverse collection of animals from India and around the world. In the evening, head to the Akshardham Temple, a magnificent Hindu temple with intricate carvings and beautiful gardens.

Recommendations:

Consider visiting the Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb, and Jama Masjid on Day 1 or 3. You can also take a day trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, or to Jaipur to experience the vibrant Rajasthani culture.
