Bangalore to Char Dham Yatra Itinerary for July 2023

  1. Day 1: Rishikesh
    30 minutes (14 miles) from Jolly Grant Airport

    Begin your journey in Rishikesh with a morning visit to Triveni Ghat for a holy dip in the river Ganges, followed by a visit to the famous Lakshman Jhula and the Beatles Ashram. In the afternoon, head to Parmarth Niketan ashram for a yoga and meditation session, and end the day with an evening Aarti ceremony at the Triveni Ghat.

  2. Day 2: Yamunotri
    9 hours (220 miles) from Rishikesh

    Embark on a scenic road trip to Yamunotri, the first destination of the Char Dham Yatra. Visit the Yamunotri temple dedicated to the goddess Yamuna, and take a dip in the hot water springs of Janki Chatti. Stay overnight in Yamunotri.

  3. Day 3: Gangotri
    6 hours (140 miles) from Yamunotri

    Drive to Gangotri and visit the Gangotri temple dedicated to the goddess Ganga. Take a dip in the holy river Ganges, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the region. Stay overnight in Gangotri.

  4. Day 4: Kedarnath
    8 hours (130 miles and a 16km trek) from Gangotri

    Drive to Gaurikund and trek 16km uphill to reach Kedarnath temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Experience the spiritual aura and beautiful mountain views from the temple. Stay overnight in Kedarnath.

  5. Day 5: Badrinath
    8 hours (120 miles) from Kedarnath

    Drive to Badrinath temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Take a dip in the hot water springs of Tapt Kund and enjoy the scenic beauty of the region. Visit Mana village, the last village on the Indian side, and the Vasudhara Falls. Stay overnight in Badrinath.

  6. Day 6: Pipalkoti
    6 hours (85 miles) from Badrinath

    Drive to Pipalkoti and visit the ancient Kalpeshwar temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the region and stay overnight in Pipalkoti.

  7. Day 7: Rishikesh
    8 hours (130 miles) from Pipalkoti

    Drive back to Rishikesh and visit the Neer Garh waterfall, the Neelkanth Mahadev temple, and the Swarg Ashram. You can also indulge in adventure activities like river rafting and bungee jumping. End the day with a beautiful sunset view from the Triveni Ghat.

Recommendations

Other local attractions to consider are the Rajaji National Park, the Kempty Falls, and the Tehri Dam. You can also take a day trip to the Auli ski resort for some adventure sports.
