Spend your morning having a thrilling time at the Adventure Island Water Park, one of the largest water parks in the country. With over thirty acres of water rides, pools, and attractions, including the Vanish Point, one of the highest speed water slides in America, there's no shortage of excitement here.
After spending the morning slipping and sliding, take a leisurely stroll along the Tampa Riverwalk. This 2.5-mile waterfront walkway is perfect for admiring the panoramic views of downtown Tampa's cityscape, public art installations, and lush landscapes. Besides sightseeing, there is plenty to do here, like renting bikes, paddleboards, kayaks, and electric boats. Stop by the newly renovated Armature Works, a food hall and event space where you can grab a bite from one of the many vendors.
End your day in Ybor City, known for its Cuban culture, nightlife, and history. The area features numerous restaurants, bars, and clubs. Take a guided tour of the Ybor City Museum State Park to learn about the regions' rich history, from its roots as a cigar-manufacturing hub to its transformation into a bustling entertainment district. Don't forget to visit the 7th Avenue Historic District, where you can find boutique shops, art galleries, and live music venues.
Begin your second day in Tampa with a visit to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, an African-themed adventure park. The park is a zoological wonderland, with over 2000 animals, including gorillas, lions, and tigers. In addition to its animal attractions, Busch Gardens is also home to some of the most thrilling roller coasters, including the Tigris and the SheiKra. With live shows, restaurants, and interactive experiences, there's plenty to keep you occupied for a full day.
After spending the morning at Busch Gardens, slow down the pace a little by exploring Lettuce Lake Regional Park, an impressive wilderness park with easy hiking trails, picnic areas, and a scenic boardwalk trail that takes you through a cypress swamp. Watch out for alligators, snakes, and other wildlife along the way!
End your day at the Tampa Bay Brewing Company, one of Tampa's oldest breweries, serving up artisanal craft beers and delicious pub fare. The brewery boasts a laid-back atmosphere and features a spacious beer garden, where you can sip on a cold one and enjoy live music, trivia nights, or karaoke.
If you have more time, consider a side-trip to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium or the Florida Aquarium. Alternatively, you can visit the Tampa Museum of Art or the Glazer Children's Museum. For a more relaxed experience, swap a day at the water park for a day at the beach. St. Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach are both a short drive away.
On the other hand, if you have less time, consider skipping Ybor City or Lettuce Lake Regional Park. Alternatively, you can shorten your stay at Busch Gardens or Adventure Island.
