Start early and drive to Joshimath, a scenic hill station and base for the Valley of Flowers trek. On the way, stop at Devprayag to see the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers and at Rudraprayag to see the merging of two other rivers. The drive is long but the views are breathtaking.
