Two Days Itinerary in Madikeri in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
30 minutes (9.5 km) from Madikeri town

Start your day with a visit to the magnificent Abbey Falls. The waterfall's roar can be heard from far away as it cascades down from a height of 70 feet. Take a leisurely walk on the hanging bridge and enjoy the refreshing mist from the falls. Afterward, take a short hike to the nearby Mandalpatti viewpoint for stunning panoramic views of the Western Ghats. In the evening, head to Raja's Seat, a garden with a breathtaking sunset view of the valley.

  2. Day 2: Bylakuppe Golden Temple
1 hour 15 minutes (37 km) from Madikeri town

Get an early start and head to the Bylakuppe Golden Temple, the largest Tibetan settlement in India. Witness the morning chanting ceremony and take a tour of the temple complex with its stunning Buddhist architecture and intricate paintings. Then, visit the Namdroling Monastery, also known as the "Golden Temple," for more breathtaking sights. In the afternoon, head to the Dubare Elephant Camp for a unique hands-on experience with elephants. You can learn about their care and feeding, and even take an elephant ride.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Madikeri Fort, which houses a museum with artifacts and relics from the Kodagu region.
