Discovering Thailand - 5 Day Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Bangkok
    30-minute drive from Suvarnabhumi Airport

    Start your day by visiting the Grand Palace, a stunning complex of buildings that served as the residence of the King of Thailand for 150 years. Be sure to check out the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which houses a statue of Buddha made of green jade. Afterward, head over to Wat Pho, one of the oldest and largest temples in Bangkok, and home to a massive reclining Buddha statue. In the evening, take a stroll down Khao San Road, known for its vibrant nightlife and street food.

  2. Day 2: Chiang Mai
    1 hour, 15 minutes flight from Bangkok

    In the morning, visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a sacred temple located on top of a mountain with breathtaking views of the city. In the afternoon, explore the Old City, where you can find ancient temples, local markets, and traditional Thai architecture. Don't miss out on the chance to try some authentic Khao Soi, a northern Thai dish made with egg noodles and curry soup. In the evening, catch a traditional Thai dance show at the Khum Khantoke Cultural Center.

  3. Day 3: Phuket
    1 hour, 30 minutes flight from Chiang Mai

    Start your day by visiting the Big Buddha, a 45-meter tall white marble statue that sits atop a hill with sweeping views of the island. Afterward, take a speedboat tour to Phi Phi Islands, a popular spot for swimming, snorkelling and enjoying the white sand beaches. In the evening, head to Bangla Road, known for its lively nightlife, street performers and neon lights.

  4. Day 4: Krabi
    3 hours drive from Phuket

    In the morning, visit Tiger Cave Temple, known for its stunning views and a giant Buddha statue. Afterward, take a longtail boat tour to Railay Beach, a secluded bay with towering limestone cliffs and turquoise waters. Don't forget to try some fresh seafood at one of the beachside restaurants. In the evening, catch a sunset at the Ao Nang Beach.

  5. Day 5: Koh Samui
    2 hours, 30 minutes flight from Krabi

    Start your day by visiting Wat Plai Laem, a stunning temple complex with a massive statue of the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. In the afternoon, explore the Fisherman's Village in Bophut, a charming area with traditional wooden houses, boutiques, and restaurants. Don't miss out on the chance to try some delicious coconut ice cream. In the evening, head to Chaweng Beach, known for its vibrant nightlife and beach bars.

While in Bangkok, consider taking a day trip to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, where you can ride a long-tail boat and shop for local goods. In Chiang Mai, take a cooking class to learn how to make some delicious Thai dishes. Consider taking a day trip to Koh Tao from Koh Samui for some of the best snorkeling in Thailand.
