6-Day Maharashtra Motorcycle Riding Itinerary in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Mumbai to Lonavala
    1 hour 45 minutes (50 miles) from Mumbai

    Start your motorcycle journey from Mumbai to Lonavala, a picturesque hill station located in the Sahyadri mountain range. In the morning, ride through the Konkan coast and reach Lonavala by noon. Spend the afternoon exploring the Karla Caves, a complex of Buddhist rock-cut caves, and enjoy scenic views from the Rajmachi Point. In the evening, visit the Lonavala Lake and relax in the calm surroundings.

  2. Day 2: Lonavala to Mahabaleshwar
    3 hours (85 miles) from Lonavala

    Wake up early and ride towards the Mahabaleshwar hill station. Enroute, visit the Panchgani Table Land, a flat mountain plateau offering stunning views of the valley. Reach Mahabaleshwar by noon and have lunch at the Mapro Garden, a popular strawberry farm. Enroute, visit the Ellora Caves, a complex of 34 rock-cut temples dedicated to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. Reach Aurangabad by late afternoon and visit the Bibi Ka Maqbara, a tomb built by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in memory of his wife. In the evening, visit the Panchakki, a 17th-century watermill built for grinding grains.

  5. Day 5: Aurangabad to Shirdi
    3 hours 30 minutes (115 miles) from Aurangabad

    Leave Aurangabad and ride towards Shirdi, a town famous for the Sai Baba Temple. Reach Shirdi by noon and visit the Sai Baba Temple, a shrine dedicated to the 19th-century saint Sai Baba. Spend the afternoon visiting the Dwarkamai, a mosque where Sai Baba lived for over 60 years, and the Chavadi, a place where Sai Baba used to rest. In the evening, attend the Aarti ceremony at the temple.

  6. Day 6: Shirdi to Mumbai
    4 hours 30 minutes (190 miles) from Shirdi

    Leave Shirdi and ride back to Mumbai. Enroute, visit the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, home to a variety of wildlife species. Reach Mumbai by evening and spend the night exploring the city's nightlife and local cuisine.
