Start your trip by exploring the Palm Springs Art Museum. The museum has an impressive collection of contemporary art, architecture, and design. You could spend all day here, but plan for at least two hours. The Gift Shop has some unique souvenirs.
Take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to the top of Mt. San Jacinto State Park. The views from the tramway and the top of the mountain are stunning. The temperatures are much cooler on the mountain, so make sure to bring a jacket. Some trails for hiking at the top.
Spend a day exploring Joshua Tree National Park. About an hour's drive from Palm Springs. The park has unique rock formations, hiking trails, and a desert landscape inhabited by the famous Joshua Trees. If you have more time, check out the Pioneertown for an old west theme!
The Moorten Botanical Garden and Cactarium is a must for nature lovers. This garden has a vast collection of cacti, succulents, and other desert plants. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about these plants and their unique adaptations. Many rare plants - Not to be missed!

If you have more time, consider adding a visit to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens or a round of golf at one of the area's many courses. If you have less time, skip Joshua Tree National Park and spend more time exploring Palm Springs' downtown shops and restaurants.
