    A short walk from the parking lot will take you to the first of the two falls, and a hike of less than a kilometre will lead you to the second. This impressive waterfall is surrounded by old-growth Douglas fir trees, and a loop trail offers stunning views of the canyon vistas and the neighboring forest. Picnic areas and swimming spots are also available here.

This 1-day itinerary offers an unforgettable experience for nature lovers who appreciate spectacular waterfalls and secluded beaches. Still, there is plenty more to see and do on Vancouver Island, and we recommend extending your trip if possible. Suggested additions might include a visit to Ucluelet or the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. If you only have half a day in total, we suggest just visiting Nanaimo and Little Qualicum Falls.
