Start your journey to the north with a visit to the Krujë Castle in the town of Krujë. This beautiful 15th century castle offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Inside the castle, you can explore the National Museum of George Kastriot Skanderbeg, Albania's national hero. Take a walk through the narrow streets of the old bazaar, where you can find traditional Albanian crafts, souvenirs, and delicious local food.
Head to the coast and explore one of the most beautiful beaches in Albania, Shëngjin Beach. This stunning 7 km long sandy beach provides a perfect setting for a relaxing day in nature. Take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, sunbathe on the beach while enjoying the scenery, or if you're feeling adventurous, try some water sports like jet-skiing or parasailing.
On Day 3, explore the magnificent Valbona Valley National Park, one of Albania's most beautiful natural wonders. Nestled in the Albanian Alps, the park offers breathtaking views of the mountains, glaciers, and dense forests. Enjoy a scenic hike through Valbona Valley, where you'll find shimmering streams, waterfalls, and stunning wildflowers. Take a break and enjoy homemade Albanian cuisine and a cold beer at a local restaurant.
On your final day, visit Lake Skadar National Park, the largest freshwater lake in the Balkans. This tranquil oasis of nature is home to more than 260 bird species, including pelicans and herons. Take a boat tour of the lake and admire the scenery, go for a swim in the clear water, or explore the ancient ruins of the nearby Venetian Fortress.
If you have more time, consider visiting other beautiful beaches in the north like Velipoja, Kune-Vain, and Rana e Hedhun. If you have less time, skip Krujë Castle or Lake Skadar National Park. Bring a good pair of hiking boots and a flashlight for Valbona Valley National Park. Lastly, don't forget your sunscreen and water bottle.
