2-Day Riga Itinerary: City Experiences

  1. Day 1: Riga Old Town
    Start your visit to Riga with exploring the Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Approximately 20 minutes (7.9 km) from the Riga International Airport, the Old Town is a charming place with narrow streets, architectural wonders, and small shops. Don't forget to visit highlights like the House of the Blackheads, St. Peter's Church, and the Riga Cathedral. During the day, you will have several opportunities to try local Latvian cuisine in cafes and restaurants.
  2. Day 2: Art Nouveau District and Central Market
    On day two, visit the Art Nouveau District, which is around 10 minutes (2.2 km) from the Old Town. The Art Nouveau architecture of Riga is unique and admired worldwide. The district has many buildings designed by renowned architect Mikhail Eisenstein. Also, the district has several cafes to relax and take in the scenery.
    After exploring the Art Nouveau district, it is a great idea to visit the Central Market, which is around 15 minutes (3.5 km) from the Art Nouveau district. This market is a great place to experience the local culture, buy traditional souvenirs, and taste traditional Latvian food.
