Begin your first day in Innsbruck, the capital city of Tyrol, situated in the Inn Valley. Experience a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains from the 977-foot high Nordkette mountain range via cable car. Take a stroll around the city's Old Town and marvel at the legendary Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl) dating back to the 16th century which housed Maximilian I’s royal box during festivities. Once done, visit Imperial Palace (Hofburg) which served as the residence of the ruling Habsburgs. Later end your day in Kristallwelten, a museum designed by Andre Heller showcasing various themed chambers.
Head to Seefeld, a resort town, famous for skiing and Olympic winter games. Start by visiting the Rosshütte Ski Area to enjoy the magnificent views of the mountains followed by a visit to the Olympia Sport- und Kongresszentrum Centre which was the venue for Winter Olympics games in 1964 and 1976. Later on, relax in Lake Wildsee, a serene lake surrounded by natural beauty. Additionally, check out the village of Leutasch where you can see the picturesque Leutasch Gorge.
Start your day in the Austrian border city of Kufstein. Visit the iconic Kufstein Fortress standing tall on the hilltops, which provides a stunning view of the city. The fortress initiated in the 13th century and acted as a shield for the city. Then proceed to explore Bahnhofstrasse, a shopping street, bustling with local merchants selling their products. If you're in the mood for adventure, stop by Skifahren Kufstein - a skiing area with slopes for all ski-levels. Lastly, spend an evening in Römerhof Restaurant, a 17th-century restaurant renowned for traditional Austrian cuisine.
If you have more time, visit small villages like Fugen or Fritzens. Both have silver mines and museums dating back to the Middle Ages. If you have less time, skip Kufstein and spend an extra day in Innsbruck, as there are many more attractions to explore in the city. And don't forget to carry warm clothing as the temperatures fall below freezing.
