Pompeii (9 AM - 6 PM) - Begin your day with a visit to the ancient ruins of Pompeii, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking through the preserved streets of the ancient city and seeing the remnants of daily life is a unique experience. Make sure to see the incredible frescoes at the Villa of the Mysteries. Afterwards, grab lunch at one of the pizzerias in Naples, the birthplace of pizza. Do not miss out on the famous Neapolitan street food, sfogliatella, a sweet pastry filled with ricotta, and espresso.
Marina Grande (9 AM - 5 PM) - Walk along the Marina Grande and admire the colourful homes of the local fisherman before taking a dip in the crystal-clear sea. Afterwards, visit the Piazza Tasso, Sorrento's main square, and experience the lively atmosphere filled with cafes, restaurants, and street performers. Stroll around the narrow side streets and visit the quaint shops selling local specialties such as limoncello, a lemon liqueur, and the delicious gelato found at Gelateria Primavera.
If you have more time, take a day trip to the nearby island of Capri, known for its stunning Blue Grotto and famous Faraglioni rock formations. If you have less time, consider visiting the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, which houses many treasures from Pompeii and Herculaneum. Alternatively, take a stroll along Sorrento's cliffside footpaths, such as the popular Path of the Gods.
