Start your first day by visiting Orange Island Park, located in the middle of Xiangjiang River. Take a walk around the park while enjoying the scenic views and fresh air. Continue your journey to Yuelu Mountain, which is a historic site and now a beautiful park. You can hike the mountain for free or take a cable car to the top for an additional cost.
Head to Mount Shaoshan, the birthplace of Mao Zedong. After touring the scenic mountain, visit the Mao Zedong Memorial Museum to learn about his life and background. Then, go to Taiping Old Street located in a historic district to explore shops, local food, and cultural experiences.
Begin the last day by visiting the Hunan Provincial Museum to explore the world’s largest collections of Han dynasty tomb artifacts. After that, check out the Window of the World amusement park, and enjoy amazing showcases of global landmarks and iconic places from around the world.
If you have more time, go to the beautiful and serene Juzizhou Island (2 hours), explore the amazing exhibits at the Changsha Museum (2 hours), or try the local street food along Huangxing Road (1 hour). If you have less time, only visit Mount Shaoshan in half-day trip. Also, note that some attractions might have different opening and closing times due to holiday schedules or unforeseen circumstances.
