1. Day 1: Mirabell Palace and Gardens
   Located in the city center (0.8 miles from the train station).
   Mirabell Palace and Gardens is a UNESCO World Heritage Site originally built in the 17th century. The beautiful Baroque-style gardens feature symmetrical lawns, flower beds, and fountains. The palace also houses the Salzburg municipal offices.

2. Day 1: Getreidegasse
   Located in the city center (0.2 miles from Mirabell Palace).
   Getreidegasse is the busiest and most famous shopping street in Salzburg. It features narrow cobblestone streets, wrought-iron signs, and brightly painted building facades. Mozart's birthplace is also located on this street.

3. Day 1: Hohensalzburg Fortress
   Located on a hilltop overlooking the city (0.7 miles from Getreidegasse).
   Hohensalzburg Fortress is a medieval castle built in the 11th century. It contains several museums, including the impressive Fortress Museum, as well as a restaurant with stunning views of the cityscape. Take the funicular or walk up to the castle from the city center.

4. Day 2: St. Peter's Abbey and Cemetery
   Located in the city center (0.4 miles from the train station).
   St. Peter's Abbey and Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in Salzburg, with graves dating back to the 8th century. The abbey dates back to the year 696 AD and houses one of the oldest libraries in Austria, as well as a beautiful church and monastery. The cemetery was made famous by the opening scene of the movie "The Sound of Music."

5. Day 2: Mozart's Residence
   Located in the city center (0.8 miles from St. Peter's Abbey).
   Mozart's Residence is a museum dedicated to the life and works of the famous composer. The museum features interactive exhibits, historical artifacts, and a listening room where visitors can listen to Mozart's music. The building also has an impressive library and archive.

6. Day 2: Salzburg Cathedral
   Located in the city center (0.3 miles from Mozart's Residence).
   Salzburg Cathedral is a beautiful Baroque-style cathedral dating back to 774 AD. The cathedral contains several works of art, including frescoes, sculptures, and a magnificent organ. Visitors can also climb the bell tower for stunning views of the city.

If you have more time, consider visiting the Hellbrunn Palace and Trick Fountains or taking a trip to the nearby town of Hallstatt. Also, note that most museums and attractions in Salzburg are closed on Mondays.
