3-Day Yosemite Nature Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Mariposa Grove
    1 hour (35 miles) from Yosemite Valley

    Explore Yosemite's giant sequoias at the Mariposa Grove. The grove features over 500 mature trees, with some standing at over 250 feet tall and 2,000 years old. Take the Grizzly Giant Loop Trail to see some of the largest trees, including Grizzly Giant - one of the oldest and largest in the grove.   2. Day 2: Half Dome
    30 minutes (16.5 miles) from Yosemite Valley

    Rise early to trek to the top of Half Dome. This challenging hike takes approximately 10-12 hours round trip, but will reward you with unmatched views of Yosemite Valley and the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains. Prior to ascending the cables, make sure to take a break at the subdome and grab a bite to eat. Don't forget to bring plenty of water and comfortable hiking gear.

  3. Day 3: Tuolumne Meadows
    1.5 hours (55 miles) from Yosemite Valley

    End your Yosemite adventure with a leisurely stroll through the Tuolumne Meadows. A flat, easy trail offers sublime vistas of green meadows stretching for miles, encapsulated by snow-capped peaks. Take in the Tuolumne River, lush forests, and granite domes, and if you're feeling ambitious, hike up Lembert Dome and appreciate the stunning views overlooking the meadows.
