The Blue Grotto is a natural sea cave, famous for its vibrant blue water and stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Take a small boat to explore the cave and see the iridescent blue light reflected on the walls. If the sea is rough or the tides are high, the cave may be closed because of safety concerns. However, there are many other beautiful spots nearby, like the Punta Carena Lighthouse and the Faraglioni Rocks.
Start your day with a scenic chairlift ride to the top of Monte Solaro, the highest point on the island, to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Mediterranean sea and the nearby islands. Hike or ride a donkey along the trails and take in the stunning views. Later, visit Villa San Michele, a charming villa that was once the home of the Swedish writer Axel Munthe. This stunning villa is set in a lush garden with beautiful views of the sea.
Visit the stunning Marina Piccola, a picturesque and secluded bay, and enjoy swimming and sunbathing on the beach. Take a stroll along Via Krupp, a stunning scenic footpath that offers stunning views of the sea and the Faraglioni Rocks. End your day with a delicious seafood dinner at one of the many seafood restaurants overlooking the bay.
If you have more time, consider exploring the other villages on the island like Capri and Anacapri, which have great shopping and dining options. Also, take a day trip to the nearby island of Ischia. If you have less time, skip Monte Solaro and focus on the Blue Grotto and Marina Piccola. Remember that the Blue Grotto and other attractions may be closed if the weather is bad or the sea is rough, so check in advance. Always wear comfortable shoes and clothing, as there is a lot of walking and hiking involved. Don't forget to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat, as it can get very sunny and hot on the island.
