To get to Avalon, you need to take a ferry from either Long Beach, San Pedro, Newport Beach or Dana Point. Ferry tickets cost around $75 per person roundtrip and the journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you're in Avalon, you can explore the town on foot or rent golf carts, bikes or electric bikes. Golf carts and bikes cost around $30-40 per hour.
If you have more time, you may want to consider taking a glass-bottom boat tour or going on a hiking adventure. For those with less time, we recommend shortening your stay in Two Harbors, skipping Island Spa Catalina or Hamilton Cove Club, or simply spending a relaxing day at the beach.
Catalina Island does not have an airport. The nearest airport is the Long Beach Airport (LGB), which is approximately 22 miles away from the Catalina Island ferry terminals in Long Beach. Other nearby airports include the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), John Wayne Airport (SNA) and the Burbank Bob Hope Airport (BUR).
