Start your trip at the Grand Canyon Railway Depot for a taste of the Wild West. Climb aboard the train and enjoy a picturesque journey to the Grand Canyon Village. After arriving at the Village, head to the Grand Canyon Deer Farm for an interactive experience with deer, reindeer, and other animals.
Explore the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, taking in stunning views of the natural wonder. Walk along the popular Bright Angel Trailhead, an accessible and scenic trail that offers fantastic views of the Grand Canyon. Take a number of family photos and feel the breath-taking surrounding panoramic views.
Visit the Grand Canyon Desert View Watchtower, a historic stone tower that offers a 360-degree view of the Canyon's surroundings. Take in the stunning views, explore the architecture, and maybe spot a local bird. Afterwards, hit the Tusayan Museum nearby where amongst other things Native Americans history and culture is in display.
On your way back to Flagstaff, make a detour to visit Red Rock State Park Sedona Via Verde Valley for an outdoor hiking adventure featuring vibrant views of the Red Rocks. Stroll along the vast network of trails that lead to the Coconino National Forest and appreciates the majestic rock formations and a few serene streams. It’s an enriching experience to spend as well.
If you have more time to spare while in Sedona Verde Valley, plan to visit Montezuma Castle National Monument for a glimpse into the lives of the prehistoric Sinagua people. Alternatively, you can explore the Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course with the family for outdoor activities like ziplining. Limit one attraction per day.
If you have less time, consider taking only the first two days of the trip and spend more time to experience the northland via the rail-line.
