Transportation

Since Avalon is a small town, many visitors prefer to explore the sights by foot, bicycle or renting a golf cart. There are also taxis and shuttles available, but they tend to be more expensive. If you choose not to rent a vehicle, a taxi from the Avalon Airport to town typically costs around $17 and takes about 15 minutes.

Useful tips

If you have more time, consider renting a kayak or paddleboard to explore Avalon's picturesque coastline. Another great activity outside of Avalon is taking the Garden-to-Sky Hike, a moderate 2.5-mile trail that leads to stunning views of the island and mainland. If you have less time, consider skipping the zip-lining or glass-blowing class and replace them with a leisurely seaside lunch or a scenic hike.

Airports

Avalon's only airport is the Catalina Airport (AVX), located about a mile from Avalon. Visitors can take a taxi or shuttle to get to their hotel or other destination. Catalina Airport has limited flight schedules and is serviced by a few small charter airlines.
