One Day in Mumbai - City Experience

  1. 9:00 AM: Gateway of India
    It is located on the waterfront in the Apollo Bunder area of South Mumbai. Built in 1924, it is a basalt arch and the first thing that most visitors see when they arrive in Mumbai. From here, you can take a 20-25 minutes ride to reach Elephanta Caves.
  2. 11:00 AM: Elephanta Caves
    These are historical caves located on the Elephanta Island, which can be reached by a ferry ride from the Gateway of India. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site consisting of a collection of cave temples predominantly dedicated to Hindu god Shiva carved between the 5th and 8th centuries.

    Estimated time to stay: 2 and a half hours.

  3. 2:00 PM: Shree Siddhivinayak Temple
    A famous temple devoted to Lord Ganesha, located in Prabhadevi. This is one of the richest temples in Mumbai with a gold-plated roof, and the deity's eyes are studded with diamonds. It attracts a lot of visitors every year, so make sure to visit early to avoid long queues.

  4. 4:00 PM: Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus
    A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the busiest railway stations in India, also known as Victoria Terminus. Built-in 1887, it's an extraordinary example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture and serves as a historic landmark of Mumbai.
  5. 6:00 PM: Marine Drive
    A 3 km long boulevard in South Mumbai, often referred to as "Queen's necklace" because of the way it looks after dark, with lots of street lights resembling a string of pearls. This remains a popular spot for a relaxing evening walk and to watch the sunset.
