Baba Budangiri hills are a great spot for newlyweds to go on a scenic drive. A combination of winding roads, green hills, and lush landscapes provide a romantic backdrop for a leisurely drive. You can reach the peak by trekking, which will take about five to six hours. Once on top, you can marvel at the stunning panoramic views of the Western Ghats. Couples can also enjoy a cup of local coffee at the nearby coffee shops.
Hebbe Falls offer a secluded and scenic spot for couples to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The falls are located within a dense coffee plantation and require a trek of about two kilometers to reach. Once there, you can relax and take a dip in the pool of the falls. As the falls are located within a forest reserve, you may be able to spot some wildlife and birds on the way.
Our final day begins with a sunrise trek to Mullayanagiri peak - the highest peak in Karnataka. The trek takes around an hour and is exhilarating. Once you reach the peak, you will be rewarded with a stunning view of the sunrise over the Western Ghats. Spend the rest of the day exploring the town's streets, sampling local foods and visiting coffee plantations.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Belur and Halebidu temples which are a one-hour drive from Chikmagalur. On the other hand, if you have less time, skip the trek to the Mullayanagiri peak and visit the Kudremukh national park and Bhadra wildlife sanctuary instead.
