Spend your first day on a cycling tour of some of South Goa's gorgeous beaches like Varca, Betalbatim and Colva. Bike through scenic villages, coconut groves, paddy fields and spice plantations. Experience the thrill of zip-lining at the Tropical Spice Plantation. Learn about the unique Goan village lifestyle at an Indo-Portuguese house. Stop for lunch at one of the beach shacks and taste some scrumptious seafood.
Embark on a trek through the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary to reach Goa's most beautiful waterfall, Dudhsagar, which means "Sea of Milk" in Hindi, named because of the white spray and foam created by the water as it cascades down from a height of 310m. The trail is 12 km long, so carry enough water and snacks. Later, relax on a bean bag at a nearby café and slurp some local tea.
If you are a certified scuba diver, then Grand Island is where you can experience an unforgettable thrill. Explore the pristine waters of the Arabian Sea and witness some amazing marine creatures like lobsters, dolphins, barracudas, groupers and even turtles if you are lucky. Novice divers can enrol for a course and sign up for a "discovery dive".
Embark on a jeep safari through an organic spice plantation, savour the aroma of pepper, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Sip some refreshing kokum juice while enjoying a cultural programme that showcases Goa's folk music and dance. Later, enjoy a buffet lunch of traditional Goan delicacies prepared from home-grown vegetables. You can also shop for natural spices, teas and oils at the plantation store.
If you have more time, you can add a trip to the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary or a kayaking adventure on the Sal River. You can also extend your stay by a day or two to visit Fort Tiracol and the picturesque Chapora Fort. For a shorter trip, skip Dudhsagar trek or Scuba Diving.
