The Kaliadeh Palace is an ancient palace located on the banks of the Shipra River. The palace has a beautiful garden and is a popular picnic spot amongst locals. The palace is named after the Hindu mythological story of the Kalidas and his love for Princess Vidyottama. The palace is open from 10 am to 6 pm and entry is free.
The Harsiddhi Temple is located in the heart of the city and was built in the 9th century. The temple is believed to be one of the 51 Saktipeeths in India. The temple is dedicated to the fierce deity Kalika and is known for its spiritual significance and grand celebrations during the Navratri festival. The temple is open from 5 am to 12 pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm.
If you have more time, you can visit the Chintaman Ganesh Temple, which is located on the Ujjain-Indore road. You can also visit the Ved Shala Observatory, which is one of the oldest observatories in India. If you have less time, you can skip the Bhartrihari Caves and focus on the other temples and landmarks. Remember to dress conservatively and carry a water bottle with you.
