Athirapally Waterfalls is a must-visit destination when planning a trip from Thrissur to Valparai. The falls are located on the Chalakudy river, which originates from the Western Ghats. There are beautiful views of the dam and the surrounding landscape from here, ideal for some relaxation after a day of trekking or sightseeing.
If you have an extra day, you can add a visit to the nearby town of Pollachi, which is famous for its natural beauty. Alternatively, if you have less time, you can skip the Sholayar Dam and spend more time at either Athirapally or the Valparai Tea Estate.
