Eravikulam National Park is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and other wildlife, and has great trekking trails. The park opens at 8AM and requires a 3-hour guided trek.
The dam offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and lake and has boating facilities. It only takes about 30 minutes to see the sights, but visitors can stay for longer to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Saravana Bhavan serves delicious vegetarian South Indian dishes. Expect to wait for a table, but it's worth it. There are no reservations, but the wait may be shorter during lunch hours.
The museum showcases the history of tea plantations in the area and has a small tea tasting. Visitors can also purchase tea at the gift shop. The museum is open until 4:30PM.
The highest point in Munnar offers spectacular views of the Western Ghats and Tamil Nadu. Visitors can take a short trek or just relax and enjoy the views. Top Station closes at 6PM.
If visitors have more time, they can also explore the scenic Echo Point or enjoy a spice plantation tour. If they have less time, they can skip the Tea Museum and spend more time at Eravikulam National Park. Visitors should also wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for trekking and bring sunscreen and insect repellent.
