End your second day in Thrissur by visiting the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, one of the oldest Christian churches in India that dates back to the AD 52. This church is of utmost importance to the Christians of India and even internationally. The neoclassical architecture and magnificent interiors are a feast for the eyes. The peaceful demeanor of the church also offers a great space for self-reflection and introspection. This church also hosts a series of cultural events, which makes this church unique, and you might get lucky and see one.
If you have an extra day, visit the Shakthan Thampuran Palace that symbolizes the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the region. This palace showcases the grand Kerala style Nālukettu and houses a museum that features ancient coins, archeological discoveries, and royal memorabilia. If you have less time, you should skip the museum at Thrissur Zoo and head directly to Vadakkunnathan Temple; similarly, if you've less time on day 2, you could skip exploring the Athirapally Waterfalls, but it is not advisable as it offers the best experience of Thrissur.
