Banasura Sagar Dam is the largest earthen dam in India and considered one of the top tourist destinations in Wayanad. Offering a mesmerizing view of the Banasura Hills, boating is a famous activity here. One can take speedboating, row boating or pedal boating and roam around the dam.
Located at a scenic spot, Karapuzha Dam Reservoir is a perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate. Go for pony rides, kayaking, rafting or paddle boating here. It's also the perfect place to watch sunrise/sunset.
Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad and a popular destination for adventure enthusiasts. Trekking is the highlight here, as it takes you through winding trails where you get to see a heart-shaped pond-The Hridaya Sarassu. The trek is approx 3-hour long but the views of the surroundings make it worthwhile.
If you have extra time, you can visit other nearby places like Edakkal Caves, Thusharagiri Waterfalls, Kuruva Island, etc. Some places worth subtracting from the itinerary can be Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary and Lakkidi viewpoint.
