Dudhsagar Falls is the tallest waterfall in Goa and located on the Mandovi River. The falls look like a sea of milk, hence the name. Accessible only by jeep, an adventurous trek or the Konkan Railway, Dudhsagar Falls offers a captivating and breathtaking landscape with a chance to cool off in the falls.
Mollem National Park is a haven for nature lovers, home to more than 720 species of flora and fauna. A Jeep safari ride with experienced guides can take you through the lush green forest, streams, and padding on rough terrains of Mollem. Keep a lookout for birds like the Indian black woodpecker, Paradise Flycatcher and butterfly species.
A well-known park in Goa, the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary full of rich and diverse flora and fauna. It is home to unique wildlife, including the black panther, leopards, Asian elephants, deers, and more. Nature enthusiasts can explore the park through guided walking tours and jeep safaris.
The Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary nestled amid mangroves and a few kilometers from Panaji, is bird watchers paradise. Along with the exotic bird sightings, the boat ride through the sanctuary offers a tranquil boat ride with the sights and sounds of nature around a breeding haven for birds. Do carry binoculars and the list of birds sighted at the sanctuary.
If you have more time, you can explore other national parks like Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary or Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary. Carry water and snacks, comfortable walking shoes, and a hat. Visit Dudhsagar Falls in the monsoons for a fantastic view - but it is closed during Monsoons months(June - September).
