Lakkidi View Point is located at an elevation of 700m above sea level and offers a spectacular view of the valley below. It's an excellent spot for a picturesque family photo in nature's abode. The sunrise view offered is something that shouldn't be missed.
Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad. A trek through one of the best trekking trails in South India that would give you a flavor of adventure and an escape to nature. The breathtaking view of what many claim to be the 'Heart-shaped Lake' is the stunner of this trail. Please note: It is required to get a permit from the forest department before the trek.
Also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, it's a three-tiered waterfalls surrounded by dense green forests and rocky terrains. The entire family can enjoy a dip in the pool created at the bottom of the falls and take a walk along the paved path, taking in scenic views of nature. Please note: The waterfall is open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and Swimming is prohibited.
Situated in the lap of the lush green Western Ghats at an altitude of about 2500 feet above sea level. Pookode Lake is a freshwater lake surrounded by beautiful flora and flora. A perfect place to spend a few moments of peace and enjoy a serene boat ride in the placid waters of the lake. Horse riding and Zip-lining are some other fun activities that can keep your kids engaged. Please note: The Lake is open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Also known as the Ambalavayal Heritage Museum, it's an open-air museum with artefacts and tools used in the bygone era in its three sections, the archaeological, the cultural and the anthropological section. An excellent place to indulge in an educational and cultural experience. Please note: the Museum is open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, except on Mondays.
Edakkal cave is located on the mountain range of Ambukuthi Mala. It suggests the existence of a prehistoric civilization or settlement in the region. A trek to reach the cave, and the rock carvings of the Edakkal caves is an excellent activity for adventure enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Please note: the cave is open from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
If you have more time, you can visit Banasura Sagar Dam, a beautiful picnic spot, and the largest earthen dam in India.
